Terms of use

NextPin · Bengaluru

The terms, in plain words.

What you can expect from NextPin, and what we ask of you. Short, because the app is simple: it plans, it does not sell.

Version 1.0Effective [DATE]

Draft for legal review. Written in plain language to match the app as it works today. Items marked like this need a decision or a lawyer’s read before launch.

The short version

What is NextPin?A free travel-planning app for a few states in India. It plans; it does not book or sell anything.
Do I need an account? No. You need one only to save plans and places.
Can I rely on the details? We work to keep them right, but hours, fees, permits and roads change. Check before you travel.
Who is responsible on a trek? You are. NextPin describes a trail; it cannot judge the weather, the path or you on the day.

1. Who we are

NextPin is built and run by Pradeep Kumar JP, an individual developer in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us about using the NextPin app and this website. By using either, you accept them.

2. What NextPin is, and is not

NextPin gives you travel-planning information: destinations, places, opening hours, day plans, stops on the way, places near you, treks and food guides.

  • We do not book, sell or take payment for anything. No tickets, rooms, transport or guides are sold through NextPin, and we are not anyone's agent.
  • Directions open in other apps. When you start navigation, NextPin hands over to Google Maps or your phone's map app, under that provider's own terms.
  • Plans are suggestions. A plan is built from the information we hold. You decide what to do with it.

3. Using NextPin

  • Browsing and planning need no account. An account lets you save plans and places and use them on another phone.
  • You sign in with Google, Apple on iPhone or a one-time code by SMS. Keep access to that account or number secure; what is done from it is treated as done by you.
  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • NextPin is free. If that ever changes, we will tell you before anything is charged.

4. Information can change — please check

We work to keep place details accurate. Even so:

  • Opening hours, closed days, entry fees, permits and rules change, sometimes without notice. Confirm at the place or on the official site before you rely on them, especially fees and forest permits.
  • Drive times are estimates. Traffic, weather, roadworks and festivals change them. Where a time is estimated rather than measured, the app marks it with "~".
  • Where we are not sure, we say so. A fact marked unconfirmed has not been verified by an official source.

5. Treks and the outdoors

Trek pages describe a route, its terrain, its water, its hazards and its downside as well as we can. They are not a safety guarantee. Weather, the season, the state of the path and your own fitness decide whether a trek is safe on the day. Follow forest-department rules, carry what the page suggests, start early, and turn back when the conditions or the time say so.

6. Fair use

Please do not:

  • copy, scrape or bulk-download NextPin's content or data, by hand or by machine;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the app or its servers;
  • use NextPin for anything unlawful, or to harm or harass anyone.

We may suspend access that does any of these.

7. Our content, and others'

  • The descriptions, plans and guides in NextPin are written by us, and remain ours. You may share a plan with the people you travel with.
  • Most photographs in the app come from Wikimedia Commons under their own open licences, credited where they appear. Some come from Google Maps and show their author.
  • Where map or road data from OpenStreetMap is used, it is © OpenStreetMap contributors.
  • NextPin uses Google Maps. Your use of Google content in the app is subject to the Google Maps Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to what Google handles.
  • Heights marked "about" were produced using Copernicus WorldDEM-30 © DLR e.V. 2010-2014 and © Airbus Defence and Space GmbH 2014-2018 provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA; all rights reserved. The organisations in charge of the Copernicus programme by law or by delegation do not incur any liability for any use of the Copernicus WorldDEM-30.
  • On our website, nextpin.in, the examples are real plans from the app (November 2026), and the map of India is made with Natural Earth. The website photographs are credited in the footer of the home page.

8. Feedback

If you tell us something is wrong, we may use what you send to correct NextPin. We check every correction against a reliable source before changing anything, and use what you send only to improve NextPin.

9. Liability

NextPin is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on information in the app — a closed gate, a changed fee, a missed bus or a longer drive. Liability wording to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.

10. Your data

How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy. It forms part of these terms.

11. Changes, and ending

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and if a change matters we will tell you in the app. You can stop using NextPin at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account — see Delete my account.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts at Bengaluru.
